What’s the protocol for a first blog post?

Google yielded nothing.  Guess I’m winging it.

I have all these fabulous topics of discussion jotted down in my notes, but have no desire whatsoever to write about any of them today.  Having writer’s block before getting my first post under my belt does not bode well.

So lets talk about my style.

I like to use punctuation marks. Might not always be in the right place at the right time, but I’m usually writing like I’m speaking, so stuff will be hyphenated, parenthesi-ed, and ‘air-quoted’ (see what I mean?). My grammar ain’t gonna be perfect.  I’ll try hard not to cuss.  I rated this thing PG-13, and I really don’t want to have to go back and find that setting to change it…

Let’s talk about ellipses…  Yup, use them too.  I like them, and until I’m tired of it, I will continue to do so.

I don’t think, by any stretch of the imagination, I could be considered ‘cerebral’.  If any of my posts appear that way, it’s most likely by accident.  I’m a pretty emotional person with a soft, smooshy heart. Any instances of cerebral pretension (see what I did there?) will have been carefully researched by the most reliable sources (if it’s on the internet it must be true!).

Despite my shortcomings, I can assure you that I will NOT improperly use your/you’re, their/there/they’re, then/than, to/too/two or literally/figuratively.

Finally, it’s likely I’ll use acronyms.  I hope you enjoy TAOBB!!!
